Ardisia / Emblemantha - Classics

Here is a group of plants which are mostly encountered under the name of Ardisia (sp. Sumatra / Sumatera) or sometimes as Labisia (sp. Riau, sp. Jambi), but the correct name is EMBLEMANTHA and most of these plants are in fact various colour morphs (forms) of extremely variable species EMBLEMANTHA URNULATA, from Primulaceae family. However, some of them may be separate subspecies or even different species  – classification is still messy, troublesome and not complete. What makes the matter even more complicated is the internal variability of the same clones: young plants have different pattern than adolescence and mature specimens. Also growing conditions play significant role, especially in colouring.  We sell several nice colour variants of this species under different tags with short description to distinguish them clearly.
