WE RECOMMEND TO READ THE TERMS & CONDITIONS BELOW BEFORE PURCHASE
Small Emblemantha urnulata plants with roots wrapped with moist Sphagnum moss, ready to pack
Worldwide shipping & packing
We are based in Europe but we can ship worldwide and WE REGULARLY SHIP TO THE US AND THE UK. We guarantee live (and healthy) arrival and smooth customs clearance – we ship directly to customer’s door, no paperwork or any kind of involvement required. The only exceptions may apply to the following regions:
- South & Central America and Africa
- Australia
Please contact us before purchasing plants which are supposed to be shipped to any of the above. Special shipping method may be required and so you may need to cover additional fees (paperwork, extra postage). Otherwise live arrival guarantee will not apply. Especially shipping to Australia is difficult (but feasible) and can be pricey.
For safety reasons we ship most of our plants without pots. We leave some of the soil and most of the roots undisturbed, so plants will re-establish easily when correct growing conditions are provided. Shipping potted is possible within the EU for an additional fee.
Payment methods
We accept PayPal, direct bank transfers and payments with credit cards (made via PayPal). Our default currency is EUR, but once you make the order we can convert the total amount to your local currency applying the current exchange rate. We accept payments in the following currencies: EUR, USD, GBP and PLN.
If you choose default type of PayPal payment – for goods and services – then 5% of the total value of the order will be added to the final amount to cover PayPal fees.
Shipping methods
By default, postage is flat and set to €18 (or free for orders above €300), regardless the destination and amount of plants. For shipping within the EU we always use couriers like UPS/DPD/GLS which ensure quick delivery within 2 – 5 days (depending on the final country) and during wintertime we use 72hr heatpacks or/and styrofoam boxes to protect plants from cold. Regarding overseas destinations we use priority registered mail as the main shipping service and delivery takes 1 – 2 weeks. Please note we guarantee live arrival, these delivery times are safe for all the plants we offer. Only some of the most delicate plants (please check the paragraph below) may suffer a bit during longer, overseas transits and though they are still subject to our live arrival guarantee, you may sometimes expect some minor damage on arrival.
We can also offer express shipping on request if needed. Please contact us for details and to estimate the cost.
We provide tracking number for every dispatched parcel.
Handling and delivery time
If not stated otherwise, we dispatch all orders within 1 week after receiving cleared payment. Usually we ship only on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid holding the parcels during weekends. The exceptions to our 1-week handling time are the following:
- Occasional holiday break – a detailed notice is always displayed at the main page in advance.
- Very cold (frost) or very hot weather conditions – in such case we will inform you about postponing the dispatch as soon as possible. For more details regarding safe and recommended temperatures, please read the paragraph below.
- Plants described as „preorder” – then a different, particular or approximated dispatch date is clearly mentioned.
Live arrival guarantee
WE GUARANTEE LIVE AND HEALTHY ARRIVAL OF OUR PLANTS, regardless of any postal/courier/customs delays, weather conditions and other circumstances. We just only reserve the right to postpone shipping in case of too high (around 35°C or more) or too low (around 0°C or less) temperature. This applies both to current weather conditions and to forecast for next several days, to the local temperature and to the temperature in the final destination. We never ship plants when temperature is too high or too low, or when postal/courier services disruptions occurs and we advise you to check the weather before purchase – we will be happy to hold your plants for a required period of time to avoid any unfavorable conditions and so to make sure you will get them healthy.
The only scenario which cancels our live arrival guarantee is a failed delivery attempt and package awaiting for the pick-up for more than 3 days. ALWAYS please keep an eye on tracking not to miss the package.
Shipping and acclimatization of delicate plants
Some plants, especially many Begonia and Sarcopyramis plus some Piper and Sonerila species are delicate and can easily wither or rot when conditions are not appropriate. Moreover, due to they fragile nature, they may arrive more weakened after shipping than other plants like e.g. Labisia or Emblemantha, which leaves and stems are more rigid and generally more robust. That is why they need some extra attention and special care during acclimatization to avoid deteriorating / melting. So, once your beautiful but delicate plants arrive, please:
- unpack them very carefully
- pot in appropriate soil mix, but DO NOT tamp (press) the soil much (avoid making it too dense and heavy)
- keep humidity in 90 – 100% range (important!)
- keep the soil only SLIGHTLY moist (NOT sogging!)
- DO NOT mist the plant, just the soil around, to avoid rotting and melting
- avoid strong light and any kind of fertilizer at the beginning
- keep temperature at higher levels, around 25 – 28*C
These tips above are crucial especially when shipping time is longer than usual (around 2 weeks or more). That is why in case of shipping delicate plants outside the EU we recommend considering express shipping. Also please note that some minor damage may occur anyway during delivery time of around 2 weeks or more and it is still perfectly normal and acceptable.
Returns, replacements, refunds and orders cancellations
Returns: you can return any plant(s) within 14-day period after the delivery. However, we do not cover the cost of return shipping, the plant(s) must return to us in good condition and you need to inform us about the return before you send the plant(s) back – we will give you the appropriate return address. Once the return is completed successfully, we will make the refund.
Refunds and replacements: if DOA (Dead On Arrival) occurs or plant(s) arrived in bad condition then please let us know immediately and either we will send replacement(s) for free or we will make full refund (DOA case) or partial refund (bad condition on arrival case) on request instead. The only necessary condition is to send photos of damaged plant(s) to us within 48 hours after the delivery.
Orders cancellations: you can cancel your order at any time, but not later than 1 day ahead before the shipping date. But this means that if you make an order on a dispatch day (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) then you may expect that it will be dispatched even the same day or tomorrow, so we strongly recommend to make final decisions before completing and placing the order because otherwise you may end up with the option of return as the only viable one. Moreover, cancellation is generally not available for pre-orders (because pre-orders are usually imported plants which must be reserved and ordered by us weeks or even months ahead).
Thank you very much for understanding the above! Please feel free to write to us in case of any questions!
