Description
Microsorum thailandicum is amazing, iridescent blue plant, also know as Blue Oil Fern. It means it belongs to a very special category of unique plants which shine and opalesce with spectrum of various blue and turquoise tones. It is a similar phenomenom of light diffraction like in case of famous Morpho butterflies. This view is simply unforgettable and this plant is a real jewel in every collection, perfect for terarrium or vivarium.
Please note that this species sometimes may drop part of leaves during shipping and acclimatization.
GROWING CONDITIONS:
- Humidity: high (70% or higher)
- Watering: intermediate or low (do not let the soil dry out completely, but definitely avoid sogging).
- Soil: almost any kind with very good drainage, use mostly inorganic compounds to avoid sogging (plant is prone to rotting)
- Fertilizing: very low to low
- Light: low to intermediate (the best blue colours are achieved under weak light)
